Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our manufacturing team. The Sheet Metal Mechanic will be responsible for fabricating and troubleshooting sheet metal parts as well as setting up various production equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sheet metal work, blueprint reading, quality inspection, and a keen eye for detail.

Toolmax Aerospace, located in Ashford, CT, is a growing family-owned tooling and manufacturing company that primarily services the aerospace industry. We hold both AS9100 and ISO9001 certifications and have various manufacturing capabilities, including: tooling design and fabrication, sheet metal forming and stamping, and both 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Fabricate sheet metal parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. Perform layout, cutting, bending, shaping, and forming of sheet metal using various tools and equipment. Inspect fabricated parts for accuracy, quality, and adherence to standards. Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to ensure precise fit and function of sheet metal parts. Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to aerospace industry quality standards.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in sheet metal fabrication is a plus. 3+ years of experience in sheet metal, preferably in the aerospace industry. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints. Ability to inspect parts accurately to specifications Strong knowledge of sheet metal materials, tools, and techniques. Working Hours:
40hr/week; Monday-Thursday 6:00am-3:30pm, Friday 6:00am-10:00am Overtime offered when available Toolmax offers competitive pay, health insurance, 401k contribution, paid vacation and holidays
