In this role, you will fabricate, assemble, and inspect sheet metal components by interpreting engineering drawings, operating fabrication equipment, and ensuring every product meets our standards for quality, precision, and performance. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in producing quality products. This position also provides opportunities to expand your skills through cross-training in powder coating and other manufacturing processes while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and technical specifications. Measure, mark, cut, bend, and form sheet metal components to precise dimensions. Operate fabrication equipment including press brakes, punches, shears, rollers, saws, and other metalworking machinery. Assemble fabricated components using welding, riveting, bolting, and other fastening methods. Inspect finished products to verify dimensions, fit, finish, and compliance with quality standards. Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance. Maintain accurate production records and documentation. Identify quality concerns, report nonconforming materials, and assist with corrective actions. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve manufacturing processes and efficiency. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety procedures and PPE requirements. Assist in training and supporting team members as needed. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing and 5S activities. Cross-train in powder coating and other manufacturing operations as business needs require. Responsibilities may be adjusted as necessary to support the ongoing growth and operational needs of the organization Additional Skills (Training Available)Powder Coating Employees may have the opportunity to receive cross-training in powder coating, including: Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and removing contaminants before coating. Apply powder coatings using spray equipment in a controlled booth environment. Load and unload curing ovens while monitoring curing cycles. Inspect coated products for appearance, coverage, and quality. Operate powder coating equipment safely and efficiently. Follow all environmental, safety, and quality standards throughout the coating process. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training preferred. 2-4 years of sheet metal fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions. Experience operating fabrication equipment such as press brakes, punches, shears, rollers, and saws. Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments (calipers, tape measures, squares, etc.). Strong math skills for measurements, layouts, and material calculations. Mechanical aptitude with excellent attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, reaching, and material handling throughout the workday. Basic computer skills for production documentation and reporting. Preferred Qualifications Welding or metal assembly experience. Powder coating or finishing experience. Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles. Forklift certification or material handling experience. Experience in industrial equipment or containment system manufacturing.
