Job Summary
Job Summary
Structures Technician must be an appropriately certificated and stamp-holding A or A&P under FAR Part 65. Responsible for inspection, repair, and replacement of aircraft sheet metal structures including main landing gear fittings, aircraft skins, and floor beams in accordance with applicable maintenance manuals, FAA regulations, and company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Research technical data and perform inspection, repair, and replacement of aircraft sheet metal structures including main landing gear fittings, aircraft skins, and floor beams per maintenance manuals and FAA regulations
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, product specifications, technical drawings, and structural repair manuals to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products
Plan, lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal parts, equipment, and products utilizing knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and nonmetallic materials, machining, and layout techniques
Select gauge and type of sheet metal such as stainless steel, steel, or aluminum, or nonmetallic material such as plastics or fiberglass according to product specifications
Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on material using scribes, dividers, squares, and rulers, applying knowledge of shop mathematics and layout techniques to develop and trace patterns
Proficient in sheet metal fabrication, repair, and installation
Perform maintenance work including repair and upkeep of company equipment as well as shop housecleaning
Make appropriate entries in Component Removal Log, complete identification tags, and repairable/parts routing tags upon removing components from aircraft
Detail-oriented documentation and strong understanding of aircraft materials and structural components
Ability to pass FAA/DOT required drug and alcohol program including random testing as required by regulations
Requirements
License:
Must be appropriately certificated and stamp-holding A or A&P under FAR Part 65 - Required
Experience:
10-15 years in Aircraft Structure repair preferred
Experience and knowledge of Boeing 767, 747, 737, and/or Airbus 340, 330
Required Skills:
Proficient in sheet metal fabrication, repair, and installation
Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and structural repair manuals
Strong understanding of aircraft materials and structural components
Experienced in layout, measurement, and precision marking techniques
Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills
Ability to read, write, and understand English including following verbal and written instructions
Other:
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check and ability to pass FAA/DOT drug and alcohol program with random testing
Spanish is a plus
