Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Structures Mechanic with a strong background in heavy structures, sheet metal, and aircraft modifications . This position requires at least 5 years of heavy structures experience and hands-on modification experience. Dash 8 experience is preferred , although candidates with relevant experience on similar aircraft will also be considered. Previous DCMA or military contract modification experience is highly desirable. If you are an experienced structures mechanic who can read blueprints, perform complex sheet metal work, shoot and buck rivets, and determine appropriate structural repairs, we want to hear from you. Responsibilities Perform heavy structural maintenance, repairs, and aircraft modifications. Shoot and buck rivets to specification while following applicable FAA requirements. Remove existing rivets from aircraft structures. Identify and understand differences between aircraft metals, including material type, structural strength, and thickness. Perform sheet metal bends according to specifications and accepted aviation practices. Fabricate and build aircraft components using a variety of sheet metal materials. Evaluate structural discrepancies and determine appropriate repair methods within authorized guidelines. Understand and apply applicable FAA standards. Read and interpret aircraft blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation to complete builds and modifications. Follow written and verbal work instructions accurately. Work with and around various chemicals while following OSHA requirements and required PPE procedures. Accurately complete job documentation and required paperwork. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications 5+ years of heavy aircraft structures experience. Aircraft modification experience required. Dash 8 experience preferred; relevant experience on similar aircraft types will be considered. Previous sheet metal experience or completion of a technical school program in a related field. Must be experienced with aircraft structural repairs, fabrication, riveting, and sheet metal practices. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical instructions. Must provide your own required tools. Ability to effectively use ERP software, electronic timekeeping systems, and company intranet resources. Preferred Qualifications FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License. Hands-on Dash 8 structures experience. Previous DCMA or military contract modification experience. Extensive aircraft modification and heavy structures experience. Physical Requirements Crawl into and out of tight or confined spaces. Work in a prone position for more than 4 hours when required. Work comfortably at elevated heights of at least 40 feet for extended periods. Lift, balance, and carry up to 50 pounds. Work inside enclosed hangars and in exterior weather conditions. Perform physically demanding aircraft structural work for extended periods. Work safely in close proximity to other technicians and personnel. What We're Looking For We're looking for an experienced aircraft structures professional who understands that quality and precision are critical. The ideal candidate can work from technical drawings and specifications, perform structural modifications and repairs accurately, and consistently follow FAA, OSHA, and company requirements. Candidates with Dash 8, military aircraft, DCMA contract, or comparable heavy aircraft modification experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

$25.00 - $42.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
