Job Description

The Office of Student Life is seeking a variety of student workers to be key members of the campus life and engagement team. As a member of the Student Activities Board, students will engage with the student body to help both plan and implement a wide variety of events on behalf of the Office of Student Life. The events will be both standalone events and collaborative events with other campus offices and student organizations. The Student Activities Board members will represent the interests of the entire GSU student body while getting hands on experience in communication, budgeting, marketing, and interpersonal relationships. Assist with setup, breakdown, registration, and hosting of campus events (Homecoming, movie nights, guest speakers, tournaments, social activities, and more). Participate in required team meetings and brainstorming sessions to foster unique event ideas that promotes a vibrant campus culture. Create promotional materials, assist with social media outreach, and distribute flyers across campus to boost student attendance. Serve as a friendly, approachable representative of the Office of Student Life and the Student Activities Board to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Help maintain, organize, and store event supplies and equipment. Maintain student confidentiality when handling event sign-ins and abide by all University and Student Life policies and procedures. Currently enrolled as a degree-seeking GSU student. Minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA required; 3.0 or higher preferred. Strong interpersonal communication, customer service, and teamwork skills. Punctual, proactive, and capable of managing event logistics while maintaining professional behavior and appropriate attire. Willingness to work evening and weekend hours based on the event schedule. Prior experience in event planning, graphic design, social media marketing, or student leadership preferred but not required. While prior experience isn't required, enthusiasm is.
