Roles & Responsibilities We are seeking an experienced Release Manager to lead and coordinate releases associated with large-scale Data Center Migration programs from On-Premises environments to AWS Cloud. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, governing, and executing migration releases while ensuring minimal business disruption, adherence to change management processes, and successful migration outcomes. The Release Manager will collaborate with infrastructure teams, cloud architects, application owners, network teams, security teams, AWS engineers, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure smooth migration waves and production deployments. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Release Planning & Management
Develop and maintain end-to-end release management plans for data center migration projects.
Define migration waves, release schedules, deployment calendars, and cutover strategies.
Coordinate multiple migration releases across applications, databases, servers, and infrastructure components.
Manage release dependencies, risks, and resource allocation across workstreams.
Lead migration cutover activities from on-premises environments to AWS.
Coordinate migration events including: o Server migrations o Application migrations o Database migrations o Network cutovers o DNS transitions o Disaster Recovery testing
Develop detailed rollback and contingency plans.
Ensure migration readiness through rehearsals and mock cutovers. Stakeholder Coordination
Serve as the primary point of contact for release and deployment activities.
Coordinate with: o Cloud Architects o AWS Migration Teams o Application Owners o Infrastructure Teams o Security Teams o Change Advisory Board (CAB) o Business Stakeholders
Conduct release status meetings and executive reporting. Change Management
Ensure compliance with ITIL Change Management processes.
Prepare and submit change requests (CRs) for migration activities.
Facilitate CAB approvals and implementation reviews.
Track and resolve release-related issues. Risk & Issue Management
Identify migration-related risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Manage release go/no-go decisions.
Escalate critical issues and coordinate recovery actions.
Track release KPIs and post-migration incidents. AWS Cloud Migration Governance
Ensure migration activities align with AWS best practices.
Support AWS migration tools and services such as: o AWS Application Migration Service (MGN) o AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) o AWS Migration Hub o AWS CloudFormation o AWS CloudWatch
Validate migration readiness and operational support transition. Testing & Validation
Coordinate:
o System Integration Testing (SIT) o User Acceptance Testing (UAT) o Operational Readiness Testing o Performance Testing o Disaster Recovery Testing
Ensure business sign-offs before production releases. Reporting & Metrics
Maintain release dashboards and migration status reports.
Track:
o Release Success Rate o Migration Completion Rate o Downtime Metrics o Defect Leakage o Rollback Frequency o SLA Compliance
