Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Management Analyst to support the Police Department in Hermosa Beach, California. This Contract position will partner with department leadership on accreditation activities, financial coordination, purchasing processes, grant support, and a wide range of administrative functions. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical judgment, organized work habits, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a public-sector environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee accreditation-related activities by organizing records, monitoring compliance milestones, and preparing materials for reviews, audits, and assessments.
  • Support development and tracking of the department's annual budget, including assistance with financial reporting and mid-year budget updates.
  • Coordinate purchasing operations by handling solicitation documents, purchase requests, vendor agreements, and invoice processing.
  • Identify grant opportunities and assist with submissions, award administration, compliance monitoring, and required reporting.
  • Maintain departmental policy documentation in Lexipol and help keep directives aligned with current legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
  • Facilitate policy update workflows by coordinating revisions, employee acknowledgements, and related training communications.
  • Draft and refine staff reports for submission while working closely with the City Manager's Office and City Clerk's Office on routing and finalization.
  • Research operational issues, evaluate information, and present practical recommendations that support departmental goals and administrative effectiveness.
