Job Summary Duties Help Duties listed are at full performance grade GW-09 level. Provide oversight during initial and extended attack fires, directs fireline activities and tactics of dispersed firefighters, resources, equipment, and aircraft. Utilize wildland fire behavior knowledge and firefighting experience and assigns missions to ground and aviation wildland fire suppression resources. Responsible for the on-the-job safety and health of all employees supervised. Perform outreach and recruitment activities. Provide workshops to students to prepare applications, with feedback, for seasonal and permanent fire positions with the Forest Service. Conduct field reconnaissance of proposed prescribed burn units, makes recommendations on appropriate treatment techniques for meeting management objectives. Draft prescribed burn plans to meet those objectives and implements approved prescribed burn plans. Perform post-burn evaluation and completes documentation.
