Our environment encourages open communication, innovation, and a shared drive to achieve collective success. Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer specializing in Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) to join our dynamic procurement team. In this role, you will manage the sourcing, purchasing, and vendor relationships for PCB components essential to our manufacturing processes. Your expertise in supply chain management systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, and others will be vital in ensuring timely procurement and inventory control. Procure electronic components including semiconductors, passives, connectors, electromechanical components, cables, and hardware. Review Bills of Material (BOMs), customer AVL/AML requirements, and engineering documentation. Issue Requests for Quote (RFQs) and evaluate supplier pricing, lead times, and technical capabilities. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and long-term supply agreements. Monitor supplier performance including quality, on-time delivery, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness. Place and expedite purchase orders to meet customer delivery commitments. Coordinate with Planning, Production, Engineering, Program Management, and Quality to resolve material shortages and delivery issues. Track open purchase orders and communicate potential delays before they impact production. Work closely with PCB fabricators to understand fabrication lead times, panel utilization, stack-ups, controlled impedance requirements, finishes, and special manufacturing requirements. Verify customer-approved manufacturers and component substitutions when applicable. Maintain ERP purchasing data including pricing, lead times, approved vendors, and order status. Support excess and obsolete inventory reduction initiatives. Identify alternate sourcing opportunities during component shortages while maintaining customer and engineering approval requirements. Ensure compliance with customer flow-down requirements, RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, ITAR, NDAA, and other applicable regulations. Participate in supplier audits, business reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation. Experience Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of purchasing experience in electronics manufacturing or PCB procurement. Experience purchasing printed circuit boards and electronic components. Knowledge of PCB fabrication processes and assembly requirements. Experience using MRP/ERP systems (Global Shop, Epicor, SAP, Oracle, JobBoss, etc.). Strong negotiation and supplier management skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
