Early-morning start, approximately 3:00 AM-4:00 AM About Us Blue Marine Seafood is a growing seafood importer and distributor serving sushi restaurants, supermarkets, wholesalers, and foodservice customers throughout Southern California. We are seeking a dependable, organized, and highly detail-oriented Seafood Operations Coordinator - Order Entry & Purchasing to support our early-morning order processing and seafood distribution operations. A major part of this position involves receiving customer orders through email, text messages, phone calls, and other communication channels and accurately entering those orders into QuickBooks . Orders may include fresh and frozen seafood, sushi ingredients, and other food products for different supermarket departments such as Sushi, Seafood, and Delica . For example, an order may include: 1 case of salmon 3 packs of seaweed salad 20 lbs. of tuna Multiple products for different store departments The employee must correctly enter the customer, store location, department, item/product code, quantity, case/pack unit, weight, and other order information into QuickBooks. Because our warehouse and delivery teams rely on this information to prepare customer orders, speed and accuracy are extremely important . Depending on experience and company needs, this position may also assist with seafood purchasing, inventory management, vendor communication, and procurement . Previous experience with seafood distribution, Japanese supermarkets, grocery operations, food distribution, QuickBooks, purchasing, or order entry is highly valued. Candidates with experience at Marukai, Tokyo Central, Mitsuwa, Nijiya, H Mart, 99 Ranch, or similar Japanese/Asian supermarkets or food distributors are encouraged to apply. Japanese-speaking ability is strongly preferred but is not required. ResponsibilitiesOrder Entry & QuickBooks Receive customer orders through email, text messages, phone, and other channels Accurately enter customer orders into QuickBooks Enter correct customer and store information Identify the correct Sushi, Seafood, Delica, or other department Enter correct product/item codes Enter quantities, cases, packs, pieces, units, and weights accurately Create and review customer invoices Check orders for missing or unclear information Communicate with customers, sales staff, warehouse employees, or management when clarification is needed Maintain accurate order, invoice, and customer records Correct order-entry errors when necessary Help ensure orders are processed before warehouse picking and delivery Operations Begin work at approximately 3:00 AM-4:00 AM Coordinate with warehouse staff, drivers, sales employees, and management Communicate product shortages, substitutions, quantity changes, and special customer instructions Help resolve order, inventory, delivery, and customer-service issues Respond professionally to customer and vendor emails Support daily seafood distribution and office operations Use Remote Desktop when necessary for order or invoice processing Purchasing & Inventory Depending on experience and company needs, the employee may also assist with: Purchasing fresh and frozen seafood Reviewing inventory levels and customer demand Communicating with seafood vendors regarding pricing and availability Checking product specifications, quantities, quality, and delivery schedules Assisting with purchase orders Coordinating incoming seafood shipments Performing inventory counts Maintaining purchasing and inventory records Helping prevent shortages, overstock, spoilage, and unnecessary waste Communicating with domestic and international suppliers Purchasing responsibilities may vary depending on experience and company needs. QualificationsRequired Strong attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational skills Ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy Comfortable working with item codes, quantities, weights, cases, packs, and units of measure Ability to learn detailed seafood product and order-entry procedures Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to consistently begin work approximately 3:00 AM-4:00 AM Dependable attendance and punctuality Strong verbal and written communication skills Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, email, and general computer applications Comfortable using Remote Desktop and other computer-based business systems Reliable transportation Ability to communicate professionally with customers, vendors, drivers, sales staff, warehouse employees, and management QuickBooks Previous QuickBooks experience is strongly preferred , especially experience with: Customer order entry Invoicing Item/product codes Customer accounts Quantities and units of measure Inventory-related information Candidates with strong order-entry or ERP experience who are able to quickly learn QuickBooks may also be considered. Seafood Knowledge Seafood experience is strongly preferred but may not be required for an otherwise qualified candidate who is willing to learn.

Work Location & Schedule This is primarily an on-site position at our Vernon, California facility . The seafood distribution industry operates early in the morning, so employees in this position must be comfortable beginning work at approximately 3:00 AM-4:00 AM . Remote Desktop may occasionally be used when business needs require order or invoice processing outside the office, but this is not a fully remote position .
