Providing a rewarding shopping experience with accurate labeling of product shelf tags, price stickers and/or signs. Effectively managing inventory by pulling back stock and re-pricing goods while processing new product deliveries. Sharing your working knowledge of wellness offerings and trends. Displaying excellent interpersonal skills.
A day in the life:
Purchase specific product lines (vitamins, supplements, herbs, and natural body care products) to maintain appropriate in-stock levels, inventory turns, to ensure a steady supply of products customers want and to adequately accommodate specials. Evaluate vendors and investigate new sources of supply for recommendation to Wellness Manager. Review vendor and broker promotional offerings and work with the department management in the development, implementation and coordination of sales promotions. Ensure accurate, up-to-date price labeling (or shelf tags) for department items. Provide product information to customers, staff and sampling/demo staff. Stay abreast of developments in natural products industry through reading trade publications and talking with brokers. Negotiate with vendors/brokers for demo samples and allowances and hand off to sample/demo staff for their implementation. Review all invoices and makes corrections to cost, size, price, etc., where required. Monitor and when necessary adjust product min/max settings to ensure adequate amounts of product are available while avoiding overstocking. Regularly review margins and make recommendations for adjustments to department management. Participate in inventory counts and price change projects. Participate in the organization of staff and vendor meetings.
