About The Company:
Our client is an established organization seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to support day-to-day purchasing activities. This position will work closely with internal departments, suppliers, receiving personnel, and procurement leadership to ensure orders are processed accurately, delivered on time, and aligned with established purchasing procedures. The Procurement Specialist will manage the purchasing process from purchase request through order fulfillment. This role is responsible for creating and monitoring purchase orders, communicating with suppliers, supporting inventory needs, resolving routine purchasing issues, and ensuring purchasing activities follow company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with vendors, and able to manage multiple purchasing activities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Process purchase orders and verify pricing, quantities, and order details for accuracy. Assist internal employees with defining purchasing requirements and identifying appropriate order information. Create purchase orders and monitor them through internal approval and supplier confirmation. Communicate regularly with vendors regarding order status, delivery dates, and other purchasing needs. Address routine purchasing and receiving issues and escalate more complex concerns to procurement leadership. Monitor open orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure materials and products arrive as scheduled. Maintain accurate records of orders, expected delivery dates, and purchasing activity. Support inventory replenishment efforts by monitoring supply requirements and coordinating new orders. Partner with receiving and quality teams to address order discrepancies, delivery issues, and non-conforming materials. Track purchasing exceptions and assist with appropriate follow-up documentation. Follow established procurement policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, documentation, and workflow efficiency. Contribute to maintaining accurate procurement knowledge and process documentation. Perform additional purchasing and administrative responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or a related field preferred. Experience processing purchase orders and communicating with suppliers. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate purchasing records. Ability to manage multiple orders and priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable working with internal departments and external vendors. Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn purchasing or ERP systems.
Additional Details:
This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity. The position is based 100% onsite in Bartlett, IL. The role requires frequent communication with suppliers and internal business partners. Candidates should be comfortable working in a structured procurement environment with established processes and compliance requirements.
