Buyer/Purchaser Details:

Direct Hire position $63,000.00 to $78,000.00 /annually Salaried Create & issue all purchase orders for packaging materials to be delivered on-time to meet production schedules across a multi-plant environment. Manage inventory levels to maintain adequate supplies to support production schedules and operations. Work closely with suppliers and freight carriers to adjust delivery priorities as needed to meet production requirements. Resolve invoicing discrepancies with suppliers and accounting. Material part number creation and management Maintain accurate data and settings in the ERP system, including reorder points, lead times, order increments, pricing, contracts, and vendor information. Ensure supply chain and procurement records are current and in compliance with company standards. Identify cost savings opportunities and make recommendations to management. Support the Procurement Agents in the RFP process, including supplier research, validation, bidding, and negotiation. Facilitate the vendor approval process and ensure proper material qualifications. Conduct regular supplier assessments focusing on cost, quality, delivery, and compliance. Support Sales and Marketing teams to drive innovation, projects, and ensure compliance. Provide sourcing support for new product development through packaging material identification and supplier engagements. Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to manage packaging material risks, including product discontinuations and phase-outs. Collaborate with Operations to manage obsolete or excessive inventories, find efficiencies, and resolve quality issues. Monitor commodity markets and pricing trends to inform strategic purchasing decisions.

Buyer/Purchaser Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree preferred. 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, and/or material management experience .Experience in purchasing paper, corrugate, films, flexible packaging preferred. Negotiation and project leadership experience preferredProven experience in vendor management Ability to manage multiple projects in a high-pressure culture Results driven, action-oriented, confident decision maker.
