$30.00-$36.00 Summary/Objective The Purchasing Agent is responsible for managing the procurement of products to support the company's wholesale operations. This role ensures timely and cost-effective purchasing, maintains optimal inventory levels, and builds strong relationships with vendors to secure favorable pricing, quality, and delivery performance. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Issue purchase orders and ensure accuracy in pricing, quantities, and delivery dates. Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and troubleshoot issues such as backorders, pricing discrepancies, and delivery delays. Monitor vendor performance and participate in vendor reviews Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure timely receipt of goods and resolve quantity/quality discrepancies. Work closely with sales, operations, and finance to understand stock needs and support business goals. Monitor product availability, lead times, freight costs, and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions. Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing files, and vendor databases. Communicate directly with the Director with updates regarding stock inflow and outflow. Compile inventory data and present it to the Director for effective decision making. Checks requisitions for appropriate approval and account numbers. Resolve discrepancies and process returns. Approve vendor invoices for payment. Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with U.S. laws. Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics. Competencies/Skills Ethical Conduct | Collaboration | Time Management | Communication Proficiency Self-motivated and possess the ability to complete tasks on time General negotiation skills Intermediate analytical and mathematical skills Working knowledge of purchasing terminology and practices MS Office, knowledge of Eclipse software a plus Required Education and Experience High School diploma At least two years of purchasing experience Preferred Experience Associate or Bachelor Degree Experience in plumbing, heating, HVAC, or electrical industry preferred.
