Who We're Looking For The Buyer is responsible for sourcing and purchasing engineered goods and services in support of our product development and manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for the uninterrupted flow of material that enables us to meet our customers' needs on a timely basis while achieving all inventory and cost targets at the same time. In addition to the tactical buying and planning aspects of the job, this person will manage vendor relationships and stay current with supplier capabilities. What You'll Do Collaborate with the engineering team to understand their needs and requirements for goods and services. Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock of necessary materials and components. Manage ERP, MRP, Buyers Queue, to evaluate purchasing requirements for stock and projects. Manage relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services Identify and evaluate suppliers based on product quality, pricing, delivery time, and other factors. Negotiate pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and on-time delivery of materials and equipment. Manage purchase orders and delivery schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any procurement-related issues that may impact project timelines or budgets. Identify and communicates critical supply issues (delivery, quality, price, etc.) to Purchasing Manager and executive sponsor as needed Perform piece-part or assembly cost estimates as required for evaluation of competitive supplier bids, standard product design changes, special order requirements, or changes in manufacturing and installation methods Implement / provide timely feedback on engineering designs to efficiently process products through the quoting process. What You Bring A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, manufacturing business, engineering or related field is preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment that includes sourcing of machined or fabricated metal parts & components. Strong negotiation, analytical, written and verbal communication skills required. Experience with steel fabrication, mechanical assemblies, machined products, motors, stampings, and fasteners. Principal understanding of work orders and bill of materials. Ability to read blueprints and understand Engineering and quality documents is highly preferred. Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and procurement software. Ability to analyze and present data in an organized and concise manner Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work with domestic and international vendors Knowledge of AutoCAD, Solidworks, Pro-E or similar CAD systems, is a plus. Why Reiser?
