BuyerBuyer facilitates the timely purchase of supplies, services, and outside sub-contracting services for operations. Position is supportive to all areas of operations ResponsibilitiesPrepare and distribute RFQs to qualified suppliersInitiate and lead cost-saving initiativesWork with suppliers and analyze pricing in order to find cost effective solutionsPurchase all services and supplies, including Factory Stores, through approved requisition and/or Factory Stores order report utilizing spot buy purchase orders and/or consignment and blanket purchase orders.
All goods/services are negotiated, processed and expedited in conjunction with operations requirements.
Reconcile A/P weekly to insure accurate/receipts.
Enter all Purchase Orders into system and maintain files with backup informationExpedite and track orders as necessaryUp to 10% travel in order to meet with suppliersQualificationsA minimum 3-5 years of procurement / buyer experience in a manufacturing settingProven track record of accountability and achievement.
Thorough knowledge of purchasing procedures and practicesExcellent communication and negotiation skillsMust have strong computer skill (MS Excel, Power Point, Word)US Citizenship or Perm Residency is required due to government military contracts.
