Buyer Job Description:
PrideStaff is working with a large global provider of thermal solutions, temperature sensing and control solutions, and flex circuit solutions for medical, aerospace, defense, oil and gas, power generation, and other high-reliability applications. Join an experienced team that couples advanced product technologies, expert design and engineering services, and a deep understanding of customers' applications to provide comprehensive solutions that meet exacting requirements for quality, reliability, and performance. The Buyer is a full-time, direct hire position in Fridley, MN.
Buyer Job Responsibilities:
Source and procure materials, components, equipment, and services in accordance with company policies and specifications Evaluate and negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and supplier agreements to ensure best value Create and manage purchase orders and maintain accurate records in the ERP or purchasing system Monitor supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness) and resolve issues as needed Collaborate with internal departments (engineering, production, quality, etc.) to understand material requirements and timelines Track and report on key purchasing metrics, including cost savings and supplier performance Assist in the identification and qualification of new suppliers Support inventory control objectives by maintaining appropriate stock levels Maintain compliance with company procurement policies and relevant regulatory standards
Buyer Job Requirements & Working Conditions:
Associate or bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience) 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience (preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment) Proficiency with ERP or purchasing systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills Ability to analyze data and make strategic buying decisions Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency and problem-solving mindset Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality standards is a plus Preferred Skills (Not Required): CPM or CPSM certification Experience with international suppliers and import/export processes Technical understanding of raw materials, components, or industrial supplies
