Job Description

Summary The Supply Chain Coordinator supports operational procurement activities by working with vendors and internal customers to source, purchase, and coordinate the delivery of consumables and inventory items. S/he is responsible for executing purchasing activities, supporting vendor relationships, resolving purchasing related issues, and ensuring business needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. Roles and Responsibilities The Supply Chain Coordinator will possess competency in the following areas in order to perform his/her role in a safe, productive, and effective manner. Executes assigned tasks related to the procurement of consumables and inventory items Communicates with vendors regarding availability, pricing, lead times, and related procurement activities Creates and issues purchase orders in support of business requirements Maintains purchasing information and supports the accuracy of vendor related data Coordinates delivery activities for consumables and inventory items Communicates delivery status, delays, and other relevant information to vendors and internal customers Communicates effectively with vendors and internal customers to support purchasing activities, resolve issues, and obtain required information Reviews purchasing and inventory related reports to identify purchasing requirements and support operational needs Assists in resolving vendor related issues and disputes Expedites orders and proactively communicates delays, shortages, or supply concerns Responds to requests and concerns in a timely and professional manner Communicates effectively with internal customers regarding purchasing activity, order status, and supply issues Works collaboratively to resolve purchasing related challenges while balancing customer needs and business objectives Requirements High School diploma or equivalent and minimum of five (5) years' related experience (and/or training) Associates degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Management, or a related field is a plus Proficient with Microsoft software programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills are a plus The following competencies are needed to successfully perform this job: Ability to communicate professionally and effectively through written and verbal communication Ability to gather, consolidate, and communicate information clearly and concisely to support decision making Ability to manage conflict and effectively communicate under pressure while maintaining a customer focused approach Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, internal customers, and stakeholders across the organization Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments to support procurement, purchasing, and sourcing activities Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining responsiveness and follow-through Ability to gather, organize, and evaluate information from multiple sources to support purchasing and sourcing decisions Ability to adapt to changing priorities and effectively respond to unexpected challenges Ability to use sound judgment and determine when issues can be resolved independently or require escalation Ability to define problems, collect information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions We offer a competitive salary and benefits package as well as an exciting and fulfilling work environment.
