full-time The Senior Buyer is responsible for sourcing and procuring raw materials, packaging components, MRO supplies, and contract services to support the manufacture of OTC, drug, medical device, and personal care products. This position develops supplier relationships, manages supplier performance, negotiates pricing and contracts, minimizes supply risk, and ensures material availability while balancing cost, quality, inventory, and regulatory compliance. Primary Responsibilities Manage assigned commodities including raw materials, packaging components, MRO supplies, and contract services. Purchase materials to support production schedules, customer demand, and inventory objectives. Develop sourcing strategies that improve cost, quality, supplier performance, and supply continuity. Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead times, and service agreements with suppliers. Monitor supplier performance and resolve quality, delivery, and supply issues. Partner with Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Sales, and Finance to support forecasts, customer quotations, and new product launches. Analyze purchasing trends, commodity markets, and supplier performance to identify cost savings and risk mitigation opportunities. Maintain accurate purchasing data, pricing, and supplier information within the ERP system. Support MRO and capital equipment purchasing as needed. Ensure procurement activities comply with FDA, cGMP, company quality systems, and applicable regulatory requirements. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance procurement efficiency and operational performance. Participate in annual physical inventory. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of purchasing, sourcing, or commodity management experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, personal care, consumer packaged goods, or other regulated manufacturing. Experience negotiating supplier agreements and managing supplier relationships. Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis. Knowledge of ERP systems, inventory management, and strategic sourcing. Ability to interpret demand forecasts and MRP recommendations. Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
