What activities did you personally perform—such as PO creation, revisions, required-date management, acknowledgments, supplier follow-up, delivery updates, or closure—and what systems did you use? Describe how you have used an ERP/MRP system to support material planning or purchasing. Briefly explain how you reviewed material requirements, planned orders, due dates, inventory availability, open POs, and demand to determine what needed to be purchased, expedited, rescheduled, or escalated? Describe a situation where a supplier was late or at risk of missing a required delivery date. Briefly explain how you identified the risk, contacted and followed up with the supplier, obtained a realistic commitment, evaluated the production impact, and communicated or escalated the issue internally? Briefly describe the most significant material shortage you personally managed. Explain how you identified the shortage, determined which production orders or customer commitments were affected, evaluated available inventory or alternate options, coordinated with Planning/Production/Purchasing, and helped prevent or minimize a production delay? Describe how you have compared supplier deliveries and material availability against a production schedule. Briefly explain how you identified future shortages or timing risks early enough to take corrective action before the issue affected production? Give an example of a situation where the required date, supplier promise date, system date, or actual delivery date did not align. Briefly explain how you investigated the discrepancy, determined the correct requirement, updated the appropriate records, and ensured the planning information accurately reflected the real supply situation? Describe how you have personally used Excel for Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Materials Planning activities. Include the types of data you tracked or analyzed—such as open POs, supplier commitments, shortages, past-due orders, inventory, or production requirements—and explain how your analysis helped identify an issue or support a decision? Briefly describe a complex material or purchasing issue that required coordination across multiple functions such as Purchasing, Planning, Materials, Production, Procurement, Quality, or Engineering. Explain what information you gathered, how you coordinated the teams, and how you drove the issue toward resolution? Describe your experience supporting a product-line transition, engineering change, new production requirement, or significant change in demand. Briefly explain how you kept purchasing and material requirements aligned with the changing production needs and how you handled obsolete, delayed, or newly required materials? You are supporting an aerospace production line when several issues occur at once: a critical supplier is late, ERP/MRP shows material available but the physical inventory cannot be located, another PO has an incorrect required date, and Production has an urgent customer requirement. Briefly explain how you would determine the real constraints, establish priorities, verify the data, work with suppliers and internal teams, identify practical alternatives, and prevent the same supply problem from recurring. What would you investigate that others might overlook?
