Job Description
Purchasing Stock Planner/Buyer Duffield, VA $21.00-$25.00 per hour Full-Time | Direct Hire Cornerstone Staffing Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Stock Planner / Buyer for a direct hire opportunity in Duffield, VA . This position plays a vital role in ensuring production has the materials needed to meet customer demands by managing inventory, purchasing materials, coordinating with vendors, and supporting production schedules. What You'll Do Monitor warehouse stock levels and place replacement orders. Review purchase requisitions and verify inventory quantities. Manage indirect purchases for maintenance, service, and facility upgrades. Track backorders, expedite late deliveries, and communicate updates to internal departments. Research and source alternate vendors during shortages. Evaluate vendor performance and maintain strong supplier relationships. Review and manage open purchase orders and coordinate delivery schedules. Collaborate with Engineering on part number changes, ECNs, and TCN updates. Work with Accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies. Support warehouse inventory systems, pull tags, and vendor-managed inventory (VMI) programs. Participate in bi-annual physical inventory and cycle counts. Maintain accurate purchasing records while following company purchasing policies and safety procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 1-2 years of purchasing, inventory, or supply chain experience. Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Basic knowledge of algebra, geometry, and mathematical calculations. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Why Join This Team?
