Exempt Position Summary:
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of the Whitley County Council on Aging and is responsible for providing strategic leadership, developing staff, implementing the vision established by the Board of Directors, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the organization. The Executive Director fosters a positive organizational culture while strengthening community partnerships, expanding public awareness, maximizing use of organizational assets, and ensuring exceptional service to adults 50 and older of Whitley County to live confident, dignified, independent, and productive lives through education, programs, and services. To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position may require some travel, including overnight. Primary Areas of Focus 1. Organizational Leadership a. Execute the strategic direction established by the Board of Directors. b. Provide day-to-day leadership of all agency operations. c. Develop annual organizational goals and report progress regularly. d. Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, innovation, and exceptional customer service. e. Ensure agency compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Board policies. f. Recommend operational improvements. 2. Staff Leadership & Human Resources a. Recruit, hire, onboard, supervise, coach, and evaluate all staff. b. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and annual performance evaluations. c. Address employee performance concerns promptly. d. Develop future leaders and maintain appropriate staffing. e. Support volunteer recruitment and recognition. 3. Marketing, Community Relations & Development a. Develop and implement an annual marketing plan. b. Serve as the public face of the organization. c. Build partnerships with businesses, healthcare providers, government, and community organizations. d. Seek grants, sponsorships, and fundraising opportunities. e. Coordinate public relations, social media, newsletters, and speaking engagements. 4. Revenue Generation & Facility Utilization a. Increase facility rental utilization. b. Expand and grow the commissary kitchen by creating partnerships with food entrepreneurs and community organizations. c. Monitor building maintenance through repairs, improvements and cleaning. d. Identify additional earned revenue opportunities. 5. Board Relations & Governance a. Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors and provide on-boarding for new board members and assist with governance education. b. Prepare board agendas, reports, and supporting materials. c. Attend Board and committee meetings and act as ex-officio member of all standing committees. d. Implement Board-approved policies and strategic initiatives.

Pay:
$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
