$300,000/year About the Role The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of EnviroTrac LLC and its affiliated companies.
Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the COO develops and executes operational strategies that drive organizational performance, profitability, operational excellence, and sustainable growth. The COO provides executive leadership to Regional Operations Managers, Regional Presidents, and operational leadership teams while maintaining accountability for multi-state operations, project execution, safety, client satisfaction, workforce utilization, and overall Profit & Loss (P&L) performance. Through collaboration with executive leadership, Finance, Human Resources, and Business Development, the COO ensures operational consistency, continuous improvement, and scalable growth across the organization. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Construction Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. 10+ years of progressive leadership experience. 7+ years leading multi-office or multi-state operations. Demonstrated success leading Regional Operations Managers or equivalent operational leaders. Full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility including budgeting, forecasting, utilization, and profitability. Strong executive leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills. Preferred Qualifications MBA or related graduate degree preferred. PE, PG, or PMP certification preferred. Experience integrating acquisitions and leading organizational change. Lean Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement experience. Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar ERP systems. Responsibilities Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with company growth objectives. Lead Regional Operations Managers, Regional Presidents, Directors, and operational leadership teams. Maintain full P&L accountability including revenue, profitability, EBITDA, budgeting, forecasting, utilization, and overhead management. Monitor KPIs including project profitability, utilization, backlog, revenue, gross margin, accounts receivable, safety, and client satisfaction. Partner with HR to improve staffing utilization, resource planning, project execution, and operational efficiency. Partner with Finance on budgets, forecasts, and capital planning. Support Business Development, market expansion, and strategic growth initiatives. Standardize operational processes across all affiliated companies. Drive continuous improvement, technology adoption, and operational scalability. Partner with Human Resources on leadership development and succession planning. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, state regulations, and company policies. Support acquisition due diligence and operational integration. Report operational and financial performance to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
