The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for the day-to-day operational leadership of Lagniappe Homes, overseeing construction operations, project delivery, procurement, and internal processes across all active projects. The COO partners directly with ownership to translate company strategy into consistent, profitable execution across the residential construction pipeline, including luxury single-family and multi-building projects. Primary Responsibilities Operations & Project Delivery Oversee execution of all active construction projects from permitting through closeout, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and quality standards Establish and enforce standardized project management processes across job sites and project managers Monitor project-level cost performance against estimates and budgets, intervening early on cost or schedule variances Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, permitting requirements, and North Carolina residential construction regulations Financial & Cost Oversight Partner with ownership and accounting on job costing, WIP reporting, and overall financial performance Review and approve construction estimates, change orders, and contractor/vendor billing prior to payment Own overhead allocation and profitability tracking across projects, Support annual budgeting and cash flow forecasting for active and upcoming projects Procurement & Vendor Management Lead supplier and subcontractor selection, negotiation, and contract administration Audit vendor quotes and invoices for pricing accuracy and scope completeness, resolving discrepancies directly with suppliers Build and maintain relationships with key trade partners, material suppliers, and subcontractors Evaluate and onboard new vendors as the company scales project volume Contracts & Risk Management Oversee administration of AIA-form and other construction contracts, including payment applications and lien compliance Manage insurance, bonding, and licensing requirements to coordination with NCLBGC and other regulatory bodies Identify and mitigate operational, legal, and safety risks across all job sites Support resolution of client, subcontractor, or vendor disputes as they arise Team Leadership Directly manage project managers, site superintendents, and procurement staff Set performance expectations and conduct regular reviews of field and office operations staff Recruit, onboard, and develop operational talent to support company growth Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and craftsmanship consistent with the Lagniappe Homes brand Strategy & Reporting Provide ownership with regular operational and financial performance reporting Participate in strategic planning, including evaluation of new markets, product lines, or partnership structures (e.g., joint ventures) Support business development efforts by ensuring operational capacity aligns with sales and growth targets Represent the company in dealings with municipal authorities, inspectors, and industry partners Qualifications 7+ years of progressive experience in residential or luxury home construction management Prior experience in an operations leadership role (Operations Manager, Director of Construction, VP of Operations, or similar) Strong working knowledge of construction contracts, cost estimating, and North Carolina building codes Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and cross-functional teams Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or similar Master's degree in Business Administration strongly preferred!

Pay:

$165,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
