JOB SUMMARY
The participant will undertake a year-long rotational program designed to promote a comprehensive understanding of our truck dealership operations. In this role participants in the Industry Development program will actively engage with the Parts, Service, and Sales departments. The program provides an opportunity to aid in everyday operations, offer customer support, participate in leadership activities, and spearhead at least one department-specific project. There will be exposure to standard dealership operations with peer support, participation in industry experiences, and empowerment to take on new assignments. During this rotation participants will be mentored by department managers and dealership General Manager. Throughout the program participants gain knowledge though the experience of learning dealership operations. These experiences include customer interactions on the service desk and parts counter, truck and parts inventory control, truck and equipment sales, financing, and business office operations. This program aims to develop leadership capabilities by exposing the participant to practical experiences in a dynamic truck dealership environment over a 12-month period.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS AND PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Planning Assist in the planning and execution of one or more department-specific projects, under the guidance of senior managers, including setting goals, identifying necessary resources, and establishing timelines. Develop a roadmap for transitioning through the various departments in the dealership to ensure a comprehensive understanding of each department's functions. Assist in the strategic planning of inventory control, ensuring that parts and vehicles are adequately stocked according to projected sales. Help in planning marketing and promotional activities in collaboration with the Sales team to boost vehicle sales and services. Participate in the financial planning process for the dealership, including helping to set budgets and sales targets. Participate in Safety Committee meetings, assisting in the development of safety protocols and emergency response plans for the dealership. Operations Assist in daily operational tasks within the Parts, Service, and Sales departments, following established policies and procedures. Engage in customer service activities, such as addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and fostering strong customer relationships. Contribute to inventory management and control operations, tracking parts and vehicle stocks, and maintaining appropriate records. Participate in the sales process for trucks and equipment, including assisting customers, conducting demonstrations, and facilitating vehicle financing. Collaborate with the Service team to ensure timely and efficient service and maintenance of vehicles. Help manage logistics operations, including arranging for the transport of vehicles to and from the dealership. Serve as a member of the dealership's Safety Committee, actively contributing to discussions, policy developments, and implementation of safety measures. Ensure compliance with established safety protocols in all dealership departments, providing guidance and clarification when needed. Perform other related duties as required or assigned. Reporting Compile and present regular reports on department-specific projects, including the status of the project, any challenges faced, and steps taken to overcome them. Contribute to the preparation of financial reports, including sales revenue, operational costs, and budget usage. Assist in the creation of inventory reports, detailing current stocks of parts and vehicles, and predicting future inventory needs based on sales trends. Participate in the compilation of customer service reports, capturing customer interactions, satisfaction levels, and areas for improvement. Help in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports, detailing the number of vehicles and parts sold, identifying trends, and making recommendations for future sales strategies. Assist in the development of detailed incident reports in the event of safety incidents or violations, including a thorough analysis of the incident, its cause, and proposed preventative measures for the future.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of a four-year undergraduate program from an accredited college, preferably in Business, Management, Logistics, or a related field. Demonstrated strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask across different roles and responsibilities. Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, and a track record of successful interactions with peers, clients, and management. Exhibits a customer-focused mindset, with a commitment to providing exceptional service and support. Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying ideas and information clearly and effectively. Has a proven track record of delivering academic team projects successfully and on time, demonstrating project management skills. Aspires to build a career in supply chain, distribution, sales, or dealership operations and is prepared to commit to a full-time, year-long rotational program. WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, laying and climbing all day.
