Locations:
Clinton, MD and/or
Takoma Park, MD Pay:
$25.50 per hour
Schedule:
Minimum 5-10 hours per week, up to 40 hours per month Evening and Weekend Positions Available Flexible scheduling available
Programs:
ASAM 3.1
Residential Substance Use Disorder Program•Clinton, MD Mobile Treatment Services (MTS)•Takoma Park, MD Outpatient Mental Health Clinic (OMHC)•
Takoma Park, MD Key Responsibilities:
Provide recovery-oriented peer support to individuals receiving behavioral health and/or substance use disorder services Organize, facilitate, and teach peer support and recovery-focused group sessions Share appropriate lived-experience perspectives to encourage hope, engagement, and recovery Assist clients with developing recovery goals, coping strategies, life skills, and community connections Support individuals with accessing community resources and recovery supports Encourage treatment participation, self-advocacy, independence, and wellness Collaborate with clinical staff, counselors, case managers, and other members of the treatment team Complete required documentation in accordance with program and regulatory requirements Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) or other recognized peer support/recovery credential preferred Relevant lived experience and the ability to use that experience appropriately to support others Experience working with individuals with mental health and/or substance use challenges preferred Strong communication, interpersonal, and group facilitation skills Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team Availability for some evening and/or weekend hours This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping others achieve recovery, stability, independence, and meaningful community integration.
