This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. This position is not eligible for a fully remote work schedule. Appointment Length Regular Continuous/Until Further Notice Hiring Range $75,000 - $100,000 Salary Special Instructions to Applicants For full consideration, please include a resume, cover letter and contact information for three professional references. About this Position Conducts compliance reviews of time and materials contracts and other sponsored program agreements such as cost-reimbursement, fixed-price, and professional service contracts to ensure adherence to applicable regulations and award terms. Provides leadership and supervises in pre-award activities, including proposal review for budget accuracy and cost allowability as well as oversight for contract administration. Serves as subject matter expert on contract and compliance matters and collaborates sponsored with program units on contract review. Additionally, administers federal, state, and private sponsored awards. Invoicing, financial reporting, preparation of financial reconciling documents, auditing of all disbursements. Interpretation and application of cost accounting standards, OMB Uniform Guidance, state regulations/laws, University policy and procedure and any terms and conditions of the award. Approval of expenditures via various electronic systems for allowability, allocability, and reasonableness. Monthly review of financial reports for each award. Monitoring of outstanding receivables to extend to working with outside sponsors, college research offices, and faculty to assure payments received. Communication with sponsors and guidance to colleges on various issues. Assist with Grant and Contract Shared Services Agreement(s). Training to outside offices as requested by supervisor. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Accounting or related field (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date) Seven years of progressively responsible experience in grant and/or contract financial management, sponsored programs administration, financial reporting, auditing, or governmental accounting, including demonstrated experience in financial reporting, audit preparation and coordination, with two years of supervisory or lead experience. Skills, Proficiencies, and/or
Knowledge:
Personal computer skills and experience with software application such as Excel, Word, Power Point; familiar with Internet and HTML. Good working knowledge of accounting principles, audit standards and fund accounting principles, federal and state regulations. Ability to "think through" problems or analyze problems and formulate solutions before going to supervisor. Self-starter in approach to work; reaches for more responsibility and knowledge. Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and speaking. 10-Key by touch required. Preferred Qualifications Master's Accounting or related field Five years of experience in state fund accounting; federal, state, and private grant/contract accounting; and cost accounting.
