Department Healthcare Foundation Job Summary This leader plans, develops and directs the activities of the departments or divisions and is responsible for identification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospects for planned gifts and gifts of $50,000 and up on behalf of Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation, Inc. in support of its philanthropic mission. The Director of Development and Strategic Initiatives will oversee the Senior Development Officer and implementation of a comprehensive and integrated annual giving, prospect acquisition, and donor signage program. This highly visible position interfaces with staff at all levels across the organization and hospital including physicians, department heads, donors and volunteer leaders and front-line staff to help ensure the success and integration of all new and existing programs. In this role, the leader sets the tone and models positive leadership behavior, while ensuring department and division projects and responsibilities are completed successfully in support of organizational goals.
