Corporate Development About Veribas Veribas Real Estate is a technology-driven real estate brokerage focused on expanding through organic growth, strategic partnerships, mergers, and acquisitions. We are seeking a highly motivated Mergers & Acquisitions Specialist to identify and develop acquisition opportunities involving independent real estate brokerages, real estate teams, and other strategic firms. This is a commission-based opportunity designed for a dealmaker who wants uncapped earning potential based on successfully completed transactions. Position Overview The M&A Specialist will be responsible for sourcing acquisition targets, establishing relationships with brokerage owners, qualifying opportunities, and helping move transactions from initial contact through closing.
The primary objective is simple:
Find qualified brokerage owners who are interested in selling, merging, or transitioning their company into Veribas and help get the transaction closed. This position is ideal for someone with experience in business brokerage, M&A sourcing, commercial sales, real estate brokerage, investment banking, private equity sourcing, or high-level business development. ResponsibilitiesSource Acquisition Opportunities Identify independent real estate brokerages and teams throughout the United States. Research brokerage ownership, agent count, transaction volume, market presence, and growth opportunities. Build and maintain a pipeline of potential acquisition targets. Contact brokerage owners directly through phone, email, LinkedIn, referrals, and networking. Identify owners considering retirement, succession planning, consolidation, partnership, or a potential sale. Generate Qualified Acquisition Meetings Conduct initial conversations with brokerage owners. Explain Veribas' acquisition and partnership strategy. Determine the owner's goals and motivation. Gather preliminary business information. Qualify opportunities before introducing them to Veribas leadership. Schedule acquisition meetings with qualified brokerage owners. Develop Long-Term Owner Relationships Many brokerage owners may not be ready to sell immediately. The M&A Specialist will maintain relationships with prospective sellers and regularly follow up until the timing is right. Candidates should be comfortable developing an acquisition pipeline that may include opportunities ranging from immediate transactions to longer-term relationships. Assist With Transaction Development For qualified opportunities, the M&A Specialist may assist Veribas leadership with gathering information including: Agent count Transaction volume Revenue Gross commission income Profitability Office expenses Technology expenses Staff costs Agent commission structures Existing contracts Owner expectations Proposed transaction structure The specialist will help maintain communication between Veribas and the seller throughout the transaction process. Target Acquisition Profiles The primary acquisition targets will include: Independent real estate brokerages Boutique brokerages Regional brokerages High-producing real estate teams Brokerages with approximately 10-500+ agents Brokerage owners considering retirement Owners without a succession plan Brokerages seeking technology or operational support Brokerages experiencing margin pressure Brokerages seeking a larger platform Teams interested in converting into Veribas Compensation This is a commission-based position with uncapped earning potential. Compensation is earned when acquisition opportunities sourced by the M&A Specialist successfully close.
Potential compensation structures may include:
Closed Deal Commission Earn a percentage of the acquisition value or transaction consideration for each completed acquisition. Per-Agent Acquisition Bonus Additional compensation may be paid based on the number of productive agents successfully transitioned to Veribas. Revenue-Based Incentives Larger transactions may include additional bonuses tied to acquired brokerage revenue or production. Portfolio Bonuses Additional performance bonuses may be available when acquisition targets are exceeded during a quarter or year. There is no cap on commissions. The more brokerage relationships you develop and transactions you close, the greater your earning potential. Performance Expectations The M&A Specialist will be expected to maintain an active pipeline and consistently perform activities including: Prospecting brokerage owners Conducting outbound calls Sending acquisition outreach Following up with prospects Scheduling acquisition meetings Developing qualified opportunities Maintaining seller relationships Supporting active transactions Performance will ultimately be measured by: Qualified acquisition opportunities generated and successfully closed transactions.
