The Market Segment Leader - Safety & PPE is responsible for leading the Safety & PPE segments, driving team performance, maintaining safety standards, and cultivating key client and vendor relationships. This leadership role is critical for driving the company's growth and success, technical expertise, and strategic vision, expanding the Safety & PPE segment's revenue, customer base, and market presence. The Segment Leader collaborates cross-functionally - especially with the business development representatives and regional sales leaders - to promote Tenet's products and achieve organizational objectives.

Sales Performance & Growth:
Own and drive overall sales performance and growth for their segments by developing and executing the annual business plan, including strategic objectives, operations, training, and marketing initiatives.
Field Expertise & Guidance:
Serve as the subject matter expert and primary contact for customers seeking technical solutions, providing expert guidance on projects and ensure our team is regarded as the first call for all segment-related needs.
Customer & Vendor Relationship Management:
Cultivate, maintain, and expand strategic relationships with key customer accounts and top vendors. Manage vendor partnerships by negotiating pricing, developing programs, and implementing partnership strategies.
Opportunity Identification:
Analyze customer and market data to identify emerging opportunities, target segments for revenue growth within their segment(s). Proactively develop and nurture new project leads to expand our market presence and sales pipeline.
Team Leadership & Coaching:
Provide guidance, coaching, and sales strategy support for Business Development Representatives. Collaborate closely with Regional Sales Leaders to align inventory, resources, and regional projects for successful execution and to pursue and secure new business opportunities.
Site & Office Engagement:
Regularly participate in office visits, job sites, and market visits to Tenet locations and customer sites, supporting customer relations, operations, and business goals.
Safety Management:
Implement and enforce comprehensive safety protocols across their segment(s) and other related product segments, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
Budget and Financial Oversight:
Develop, manage, and monitor budgets for their segment(s) and department operations to achieve financial goals and maintain fiscal discipline.
Pricing Strategy:
Create and implement competitive segment-specific pricing strategies to maximize profitability and market share.
Industry Knowledge:
Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of insulation materials, methods, techniques, and industry standards. Regularly communicate segment-specific strategies, trends, and competitive insights to the team, ensuring adoption of best practices and recognition of emerging trends.
Event Participation & Industry Networking:
Represent the organization at industry events and trade shows to network, promote the company brand, and remain engaged in key customer markets to support business development initiatives.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
: Bachelor's degree: In business administration, management, sales or a related field. B2
B Sales and Market Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of progressive B2B sales experience, including market-related experience in Safety & PPE products, solutions, and customer applications.
Relationship Management and Vendor Development:
Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated success building and maintaining strategic customer and vendor relationships, including onboarding new vendors and customers, developing supplier programs, negotiating pricing, and expanding account opportunities.
Leadership, Coaching, and Team Development:
Minimum of 5 years of experience mentoring, coaching, and developing team members' individualized technical knowledge, sales capabilities, product expertise, and professional growth.
Construction Market Knowledge:
Proven track record of sales and business-development success across construction-related market segments, including infrastructure, commercial, industrial, institutional, and building contractor customers.
Safety and Regulatory Expertise:
Demonstrated working knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to Safety & PPE products and jobsite environments, including: OSHA requirements and jobsite safety practices
ANSI/ISEA
standards NIOSH respiratory-protection guidance and requirements
Business Growth and Performance:
Proven history of exceeding sales targets, developing new business opportunities, increasing market share, and driving profitable revenue growth.
Leadership Experience:
Progressive advancement in supervisory, managerial, market-leadership, or director-level roles, preferably within construction supply, industrial distribution, safety, PPE, or related industries.
Industry Expertise:
Strong foundation in Safety & PPE products, market dynamics, customer applications, vendor landscapes, and evolving industry trends.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
: This position requires the ability to travel up to 50% of the time. Travel locations include company offices, job sites, industry events, and training venues. The frequency and duration of travel will depend on business needs, with trips ranging from several times a month to weekly. Travel will primarily be by car, with occasional flights for longer distances.
