Job Description

Light Action Productions is seeking a Dispatcher for its Trucking / Logistics Department. This role is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily movement of drivers, trucks, and equipment to ensure timely, efficient, and safe transportation of production assets. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively, and excels at problem-solving.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and distribute the daily dispatch schedule for drivers and equipment. Utilize dynamic routing software to plan efficient outbound routes and adjust in real time as needed. Create, update, and maintain inbound and outbound orders in the dispatch management system. Assign delivery and backhaul runs while adapting to last-minute changes, delays, or route disruptions. Serve as the primary contact for drivers, providing guidance on delays, traffic, weather, directions, and other operational needs. Maintain clear, professional communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams via radio, phone, email, or dispatch software. Build and maintain positive relationships with drivers, vendors, and clients. Monitor driver hours to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies. Maintain accurate documentation of schedules, routes, and delivery status. Follow company attendance policy and report to work on time, prepared for the assigned shift. Ensure customer commitments are met by proactively addressing service issues and delays. Maintain composure and professionalism in all interactions, representing the company's values and standards. Assist with special projects or additional logistics assignments as required. Support operational efficiency through proactive problem-solving and teamwork. Able to work a varied schedule including nights, evenings, and weekends. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Ability to follow directions and carry out instructions accurately. Strong reasoning, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. Customer-focused mindset with a positive, team-oriented approach. Proficiency with routing software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

EXPERIENCE
3+ years of dispatching and/or transportation planning in trucking or logistics. Experience in entertainment logistics or similar industries, preferred. Familiarity with DOT regulations and transportation compliance standards, preferred.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent, required.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and talk or hear and remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. The employee is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms. The employee must have the ability to verbally effectively communicate with staff and customers. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must have the ability to stay alert and attentive at all times and operate a computer, phone and essential equipment as required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
