Duties Coordinate and schedule truck routes for weekend shipments using transportation management systems and vehicle dispatch software Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems and internal communication platforms Monitor GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data to track vehicle locations and optimize routing strategies Manage freight documentation, data entry, and shipping & receiving records with accuracy and attention to detail Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards during all dispatch activities Provide exceptional customer service by addressing driver inquiries, resolving scheduling conflicts, and updating clients on delivery statuses Collaborate with logistics teams to analyze transportation data, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvements for road transportation operations Requirements Proven experience in dispatching or transportation planning within a logistics or supply chain environment Strong knowledge of transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or Vehicle Dispatch Software Familiarity with GPS technology, GIS tools, and fleet management systems Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively during weekend shifts Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook for documentation and communication purposes Ability to manage multi-line phone systems professionally while demonstrating strong phone etiquette Knowledge of DOT regulations related to freight transport, safety standards, and driver hours of service Strong analysis skills to interpret transportation data and optimize routing decisions Effective communication skills for internal coordination and customer interactions Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high levels of accuracy Join us as a Weekend Truck Dispatcher and be part of a vibrant team dedicated to delivering excellence in road transportation!
