Position Summary The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and monitoring daily field service activities for generator technicians supporting commercial and industrial clients. This role ensures timely response to customer service requests, efficient routing of technicians, and accurate communication between customers, technicians, parts teams, and branch leadership. The Dispatcher plays a key role in maintaining operational efficiency, service quality, and customer satisfaction across the Lebanon, PA market. Key Responsibilities Service Coordination & Scheduling Schedule, dispatch, and route generator technicians for preventive maintenance, repairs, emergency calls, and quoted work. Map and assign technician routes based on geographic efficiency to minimize travel time and maximize productivity across the region. Prioritize service requests based on urgency, customer impact, SLA requirements, and technician availability. Monitor real-time job status updates to ensure timely completion and adjust schedules as needed. Serve as a primary point of contact for incoming customer calls related to service requests, status updates, and general inquiries. Provide timely and professional updates to customers regarding technician ETA, service progress, and job completion details. Enter service requests accurately into the service management system. Coordinate with parts, service managers, and technicians to ensure required materials, tools, and job notes are prepared before dispatching. Assist in creating, updating, and maintaining schedules. Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support branch operations and service delivery.
Requirements:
Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. 1-3 years of experience in dispatching, scheduling, logistics coordination, or similar operational role. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced service environment. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with a customer-first mindset. Proficiency in service management software, scheduling tools, MS Office Suite, or similar platforms. Ability to remain calm and solutions focused during high-volume or emergency service periods. Preferred Prior experience in generator service, electrical service, HVAC, industrial equipment service, or related field. Knowledge of generator terminology, service workflows, and field service operations. Familiarity with service ticketing systems, work order management platforms, and dispatching software. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to sit, type, and talk on the phone for extended periods. Work performed primarily in an office or branch service environment. Occasional support during after-hours or rotating on-call dispatch schedule may be required. Why GenServe?
