This role combines hands-on technical expertise with facilities management responsibilities to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our marine assets and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine engine repair, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical systems maintenance, along with experience in marina or sailing operations. This is a paid position committed to maintaining high standards of safety and operational excellence. Responsibilities Perform routine and complex repairs on marine engines, including outboard, inboard, I/O, gasoline, and diesel engines. Maintain and troubleshoot marine propulsion systems to ensure optimal performance. Conduct electrical system diagnostics and repairs on various marine electrical components. Repair and service mechanical systems integral to marine vessels and marina facilities. Oversee the maintenance of diesel mechanics and mechanical systems across the fleet. Manage the upkeep of marina infrastructure such as docks, hoists, rigging, and sailing equipment. Assist with powerboat handling, sailboat maintenance, fiberglass/gelcoat repair, and rigging as needed. Supervise safety protocols for all maintenance activities to ensure compliance with industry standards. Coordinate with staff to schedule repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance programs. Oversee facilities management tasks related to marina operations to support sailing or regatta activities. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and environmental standards. Skills Minimum of three years of hands-on experience in marine mechanics and engine repair. Proven expertise in repairing and maintaining outboard, inboard, I/O engines, including gasoline and diesel variants. Strong troubleshooting skills in marine electrical systems. Experience with mechanical systems repair within a maritime setting. Knowledge of diesel mechanics is essential. Familiarity with marina or yacht club operations is highly desirable. Ability to handle powerboats safely and perform sailboat maintenance tasks such as rigging and fiberglass repairs. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail. Strong organizational skills for managing multiple maintenance projects simultaneously. Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and vendors.
