Yes County Albany Street Address 161 Delaware Avenue City Delmar State NY Zip Code 12054 Duties Description Work with the agency's Special Prosecutor/Inspector General and perform the following functions, including but not limited to: o Oversee content development of the law enforcement and prosecution training program for forensic interviewing best practices of vulnerable populations. o Participate in external and internal training programs and conferences to maintain current expertise in recent forensic interview best practices o Work with prosecutors, investigators, training and other units within the Justice Center to develop trainings on the topic of best practices for sexual assault investigations and prosecutions, and other trainings. o Assist with coordinating with child advocacy centers, and work to develop and expand our contacts with those facilities. o Assist with outreach to District Attorney's offices for coordinating training programs o Work with attorneys to update current training programs for CLE credit. o Work with SPIG to oversee the JCSART multi-disciplinary team to ensure that there are enough members on the team, that they are trained, coordinate and facilitate case review meetings, and provide team members with the most up-to-date resources and trainings. o Assist the Mortality Review and Legal Determination Units to support Mortality Case Coordination to ensure that there are enough members on the team, that they are trained, coordinate case review meetings and training, and provide team members with the most up-to-date resources. o Participate in forensic interviews in Child Advocacy Centers, and investigatory interviews for allegations of abuse and neglect in selected cases. o Participate in local and statewide task forces and organizations dealing with issues relating to the criminal investigations and prosecution of persons charged with abuse or neglect of vulnerable New Yorkers with a focus on sexual assault cases. o Supervise specialized team assistant as required o Travel may be required
Minimum Qualifications Non-competitive:
one year of permanent service as a Quality of Care Facility Review Specialist 2 or Quality of Care Facility Review Specialist 2 (Nursing); or bachelor's degree AND five years of experience
working in any of the following, or combination of the following: a New York State Office of Mental Health, Office for People With Developmental Disabilities, Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, Office of Children and Family Services, Department of Health, State Education Department or Office of Addiction Services and Supports licensed or supervised facility covered under the jurisdiction of the NYS Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs; investigating complaints and allegations of abuse and neglect of persons receiving care from a facility or provider covered under the jurisdiction of the NYS Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs; a medical facility; a child protective services organization; or as a professional advocate or service provider in the field of rehabilitation, developmental disabilities, or mental health.
Two years of this experience must include administrative or managerial supervision in the program areas described above.
