Facilities Manager Holy Name Catholic School - 4.8 Kansas City, KS Job Details Full-time $50,000 - $65,000 a year 20 hours ago Qualifications Physical security Outdoor work experience Outdoor debris cleaning Performing background checks Electrical maintenance Full Job Description Position Overview Holy Name Catholic Church & School is seeking a dependable, organized, and hands-on Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and general upkeep of our parish and school campus. The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring that our buildings and grounds are well-maintained, safe, and ready for daily operations, school activities, parish functions, and special events. This position works closely with parish and school leadership to identify facility needs, coordinate repairs, and maintain a welcoming environment for our students, staff, families, and parishioners. Key Responsibilities Building Maintenance & Repairs Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs throughout the school, church, and other parish facilities. Identify and address plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, and other building maintenance concerns within the scope of the position. Coordinate with outside contractors and service providers for repairs requiring specialized expertise. Conduct regular inspections of buildings and equipment to identify maintenance needs. Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule. Campus & Grounds Oversee the general appearance, cleanliness, and upkeep of all campus buildings and grounds. Maintain sidewalks, entrances, parking areas, and outdoor spaces. Coordinate seasonal maintenance, including snow and ice removal and landscaping. Ensure trash removal and proper storage of maintenance supplies and equipment. Identify opportunities to improve the appearance and functionality of the campus. Cleaning & Custodial Responsibilities Oversee daily cleaning and custodial needs throughout the campus. Perform custodial duties as needed to maintain a clean and welcoming environment. Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment. Ensure restrooms, common areas, classrooms, and gathering spaces are properly maintained. Safety & Security Regularly inspect facilities for potential safety hazards and address concerns promptly. Help ensure compliance with applicable building, fire, and safety requirements. Monitor building access, locks, lighting, and other facility security needs. Assist school and parish leadership with emergency preparedness and facility-related safety procedures. Promptly communicate urgent maintenance or safety concerns to leadership. School & Parish Events Work with school and parish staff to anticipate facility needs and prepare spaces accordingly. Provide facility support for special events, including occasional evening and weekend activities. Planning & Communication Communicate regularly with the principal, pastor, and appropriate parish staff regarding maintenance priorities and facility concerns. Maintain records of repairs, inspections, equipment servicing, and maintenance needs. Assist with obtaining estimates and coordinating approved facility projects. Monitor maintenance supplies and communicate purchasing needs. Help identify long-term facility improvements and priorities. Qualifications Previous experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, custodial management, or a related field preferred. General knowledge of building maintenance, basic repairs, and preventive maintenance. Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to coordinate with contractors, staff, and volunteers. Willingness to perform hands-on maintenance and custodial work as needed. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting, standing, walking, and working both indoors and outdoors. Willingness to support the mission and values of Holy Name Catholic Church & School. Ability to complete required Archdiocesan background checks and safe-environment training. Work Expectations The Facilities Manager is expected to be proactive in identifying maintenance needs, responsive to facility concerns, and flexible in supporting the daily operations of both the school and parish. Occasional evening or weekend availability may be required for special events, emergencies, or scheduled maintenance.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
