Clinic Facility Manager

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Clinic Facility Manager is responsible for the management, maintenance, safety, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness of all clinic facilities and support systems. This position serves as the designated Safety Officer and Infection Prevention Coordinator, ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant healthcare environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The position oversees facility operations, life safety systems, emergency preparedness, infection prevention activities, environmental safety, and contractor/vendor management in accordance with applicable federal, state, tribal, and healthcare regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of clinic buildings, grounds, equipment, and utility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, security, and emergency power systems. Oversee housekeeping staff and contracted environmental services personnel; ensure cleaning, disinfecting, waste management, and infection prevention practices are performed in accordance with clinic policies, CDC guidelines, regulatory requirements, and healthcare industry standards. Oversee and ensure year-round groundskeeping and exterior maintenance are completed, including snow and ice removal, lawn mowing, landscaping, parking lot and walkway upkeep, and other seasonal grounds needs. Conduct routine facility inspections and maintain a safe, functional, and compliant healthcare environment. Maintain records of inspections, maintenance activities, permits, service contracts, and regulatory compliance requirements. Serve as the clinic Safety Officer and develop, implement, and monitor workplace safety programs and policies. Conduct safety and infection control rounds, hazard assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action follow-up as needed. Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including fire drills, evacuation procedures, emergency response planning, and staff training. Oversee inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarms, extinguishers, emergency lighting, sprinkler systems, and life safety equipment. Manage hazardous materials programs, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), chemical inventories, and waste disposal processes in compliance with applicable regulations. Serve as the Infection Prevention Coordinator by monitoring and supporting infection prevention and control practices throughout the clinic. Conduct infection risk assessments and assist with implementation of CDC-recommended infection prevention measures, including hand hygiene, PPE compliance, environmental cleaning, and disinfection practices. Ensure compliance with OSHA, CDC, CMS, NFPA, state health department, tribal, and other applicable healthcare regulations and accreditation standards. Assist with preparation for regulatory surveys, inspections, and audits, including implementation of corrective action plans. Assist with the development and management of facility budgets, equipment replacement plans, and capital improvement projects. Provide staff education related to facility safety, emergency preparedness, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance. Must have a working knowledge of and adhere to all tribal ordinances, policies, procedures, EPA permitting processes, THPO permitting processes, and any other regulations applicable to the position. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications ( Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities) :
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Required
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field. Preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years of facility management, maintenance, safety, or healthcare operations experience. Required
  • Experience in healthcare facility operations, regulatory compliance, safety, emergency preparedness, and infection prevention. Preferred
  • Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, CDC, CMS, and healthcare facility compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, contractors, and regulatory requirements simultaneously.
  • Certification such as CHFM, CHSP, CSP, CIC, or other related credentials.

Pay:
$70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
