Job Description
Dixie Metalcraft, a precision sheet metal and machine shop, is currently seeking a motivated Material Handler to join our team. The successful candidate will work in our fast-paced warehouse in Hazel Green, Alabama . This is an excellent opportunity to start a career with a company that offers stability and growth opportunities. The right candidate will also assist our delivery drivers as needed. What You Will Do Unload materials and merchandise from incoming trucks and place them in assigned warehouse or production floor locations. Locate and move stock to pallets or crates for storage and shipment. Identify damaged materials and report shortages or quality concerns. Transport raw materials to production workstations. Saw and shear materials to the correct size according to specifications. Inspect machinery to determine maintenance and repair needs and help ensure safe operation. Maintain accurate inventory records and activity logs. Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Skills Needed Proven forklift operating experience. Strong attention to detail. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Strong work ethic and dependability. Commitment to workplace safety. Requirements Reliable transportation. Minimum of 2 years of forklift experience. Ability to organize and sort materials with a high level of accuracy. Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team. Clean driving record and a valid, unrestricted driver's license. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to frequently lift up to 40 pounds throughout the workday. Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently bend, twist, push, and pull throughout the workday. Must be at least 18 years of age.
