Forklift Operator/Material Handler

Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to load, unload, transport, and organize materials throughout our warehouse, yard, and facility. This role plays a key part in maintaining efficient operations, accurate inventory management, and a safe working environment. Key Responsibilities Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move materials, products, and equipment throughout the facility. Load and unload trucks, trailers, and delivery vehicles in a timely and efficient manner. Transport materials to designated storage, staging, and production areas. Organize and maintain inventory, ensuring products are stored correctly and easily accessible. Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and report any discrepancies or damages. Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or repair needs promptly. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Assist with inventory counts, warehouse organization, and general facility operations as needed. Work closely with warehouse, production, and logistics personnel to support operational goals. Qualifications Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment. Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification. Strong understanding of warehouse safety practices and material-handling procedures. Ability to read and follow work orders, shipping documents, and inventory records. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday. Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and varying weather conditions, as applicable. Education High school diploma or GED required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with inventory management systems and warehouse operations. Experience operating multiple types of forklifts and material-handling equipment.
