Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented, safety-minded Warehouse Forklift Operator to support receiving, inventory control, material handling, warehouse organization, and the timely movement of products and materials throughout our facility. This is a hands-on warehouse role: you will operate forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and other authorized material-handling equipment to receive, unload, inspect, count, verify, stage, store, retrieve, and transport palletized and non-palletized ingredients, packaging, supplies, finished goods, and other assigned materials. The Warehouse Forklift Operator works closely with Warehouse, Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Logistics, Purchasing, and other cross-functional teams. Key responsibilities include verifying incoming deliveries against purchase orders, bills of lading, packing slips, labels, and other receiving documents; completing accurate scanner and inventory transactions; supporting inventory counts and reconciliations; organizing and rotating stock; preparing customer, production, and internal orders; maintaining clean and organized warehouse, dock, staging, freezer, and cooler areas; and promptly reporting damaged products, inventory discrepancies, equipment concerns, quality issues, food-safety concerns, and unsafe conditions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The duties below are considered essential functions of this position. This list is not exhaustive and may be revised to reflect legitimate business needs, consistent with applicable law. Receive, unload, inspect, count, verify, and appropriately stage incoming materials, ingredients, packaging, supplies, equipment, finished goods, and other assigned products. Load and unload trailers containing palletized and non-palletized products in accordance with Company procedures, receiving schedules, safety requirements, and applicable standard operating procedures. Compare delivered items with purchase orders, bills of lading, packing slips, receiving documents, labels, and other applicable records to verify product identity, quantities, condition, lot information, dates, and other required receiving details. Identify, document, and promptly report shortages, overages, damaged product, temperature concerns, packaging damage, labeling discrepancies, quality concerns, delivery discrepancies, or other receiving issues to the Warehouse Manager, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, Logistics, or other appropriate personnel. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and other authorized material-handling equipment safely and effectively to move products and materials within warehouse, receiving, storage, shipping, staging, freezer, cooler, and production areas. Place received products and materials in assigned warehouse locations, racks, shelves, staging areas, freezer locations, cooler locations, or other designated storage areas in accordance with inventory-control, food-safety, quality, and safety requirements. Maintain accurate inventory control through the use of scanners, bar-code systems, warehouse-management systems, inventory logs, stock-location records, and other Company-designated systems. Perform inventory transactions, including receiving entries, stock moves, location changes, inventory adjustments, transfers, and related documentation accurately and promptly, as assigned and in accordance with Company procedures. Support cycle counts, physical inventories, inventory reconciliation, inventory investigations, and monthly warehouse-inventory preparation activities. Organize, rotate, stage, and maintain inventory in accordance with Company procedures, including applicable first-in, first-out, first-expired, first-out, lot-control, hold, release, and product-segregation requirements. Assemble customer orders, production orders, internal warehouse requests, or other assigned orders from stock; place items on pallets; wrap, label, stage, and prepare orders for shipment, production use, transfer, or pickup as required. Maintain warehouse racks, shelves, pallet areas, staging areas, dock areas, freezer and cooler areas, equipment areas, and assigned work areas in a clean, safe, organized, and inspection-ready condition. Follow all applicable receiving, warehouse, inventory-control, food-safety, quality, GMP, allergen-control, sanitation, traceability, and product-handling procedures. Inspect forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, dock equipment, racks, trailers, pallets, and other assigned equipment or work areas before and during use; promptly report damage, malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or maintenance needs. Complete required forklift or material-handling-equipment inspections, receiving records, bills of lading, inventory documents, scanner transactions, damage reports, checklists, logs, and other assigned documentation accurately and legibly. Safely handle and store food ingredients, packaging materials, finished products, warehouse supplies, and other assigned items in accordance with applicable temperature-control, allergen-control, product-segregation, sanitation, and quality requirements. Communicate receiving status, product availability, inventory concerns, delivery issues, shortages, damaged materials, and other relevant information to the Warehouse Manager and appropriate internal partners. Participate in assigned warehouse meetings, safety meetings, training, inventory counts, audits, continuous-improvement activities, and other operational initiatives. Wear, inspect, maintain, and properly use required personal protective equipment and comply with all applicable safety, food-safety, quality, sanitation, GMP, allergen-control, and site-specific operating requirements. Perform other related warehouse, receiving, shipping, inventory-control, and material-handling duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager or other authorized management personnel. Required Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred. At least one (1) year of warehouse, receiving, shipping, inventory-control, material-handling, forklift-operation, manufacturing, food-production, or comparable experience preferred. Current forklift certification, or the ability to obtain and maintain Company-required forklift certification and authorization after hire. Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and other authorized material-handling equipment after receiving required training and authorization. Ability to understand, follow, and comply with receiving procedures, warehouse instructions, work orders, SOPs, GMPs, food-safety requirements, quality requirements, safety rules, and Company policies. Basic math skills, including the ability to count, add, subtract, compare quantities, verify inventory, and identify discrepancies. Ability to use scanners, bar-code systems, warehouse-management systems, inventory-control systems, and basic computer applications; or the ability to learn Company-designated systems. Ability to read and understand basic receiving documents, labels, bills of lading, packing slips, work orders, lot codes, date codes, inventory records, safety notices, and written instructions in English. Ability to communicate effectively in English with supervisors, coworkers, drivers, vendors, Quality Assurance personnel, Production personnel, and other cross-functional partners. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, time-management skills, and ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to work independently with limited day-to-day direction after training and to work cooperatively as part of a team. Ability to work the assigned schedule, including overtime, weekends, and occasional six-day workweeks based on production and warehouse needs. Preferred Qualifications Experience receiving food ingredients, packaging materials, finished goods, raw materials, supplies, or other materials in a food-manufacturing, bakery, frozen-food, warehouse, distribution, or regulated manufacturing environment. Experience performing inventory receiving, scanner transactions, inventory counts, stock-location maintenance, warehouse-management-system transactions, or cycle counts. Experience using forklift-mounted scanners, handheld scanners, RF scanners, bar-code systems, warehouse-management systems, ERP systems, or other inventory-control technology. Experience working in freezer, cooler, temperature-controlled, high-volume receiving, shipping, warehouse, or production environments. Experience following GMPs, food-safety procedures, allergen-control practices, traceability requirements, product-segregation requirements, and sanitation procedures. Bilingual English/Spanish communication ability. Work Environment and Required Safety Practices Work is performed primarily in an active warehouse, receiving, shipping, freezer, cooler, and food-manufacturing environment. The position regularly works at loading docks, trailer areas, warehouse racks, staging locations, storage areas, production-adjacent areas, and other designated plant locations. Work may involve exposure to moving forklifts and other powered industrial equipment, loading docks, trailers, conveyors, packaging machinery, pallets, warehouse racks, noise, wet or slippery surfaces, cold temperatures, changing temperatures, food ingredients, allergens, food-product materials, cleaning and sanitation chemicals, and other workplace conditions. The employee must comply with all Company safety practices, food-safety programs, quality standards, GMPs, sanitation procedures, allergen-control requirements, inventory-control procedures, PPE requirements, forklift and pedestrian-safety rules, dock-safety requirements, and other site-specific safety procedures. Required PPE may include, as applicable, safety shoes, high-visibility garments, hair and beard restraints, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective sleeves, freezer gear, and other task-specific protective equipment. The employee must follow applicable forklift, pedestrian, dock, trailer, pallet-rack, chemical-safety, slip/trip/fall-prevention, machine-guarding, ladder-safety, lockout/tagout, warehouse, receiving, and emergency-response procedures. Unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, product damage, spills, quality concerns, food-safety concerns, and other hazards must be reported immediately.
