Purpose:

A Distribution Forklift Operator safely operates industrial equipment (e.g., sit-down or stand-up forklifts) to load, unload, move, and stack merchandise. They play a vital role in supply chain operations by tracking inventory, preparing orders, and maintaining a hazard-free work environment.

Essential Functions:

Required but not limited to:

Equipment Operation:

Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery to transport goods.

Shipping & Receiving:

Load and unload trailers and trucks, ensuring goods are properly secured, wrapped, and organized.

Inventory Management:

Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track stock, verify counts, and conduct routine cycle counts.

Safety & Compliance:

Perform pre-shift equipment inspections and adhere to strict OSHA and company safety guidelines.

Warehouse Maintenance:

Keep aisles clear of debris and maintain a clean charging and fueling station.+

Position Prerequisite:

Must meet the following requirements: Complies with all rules and regulations of Agri-Fab, Inc. and actively contributes to workplace safety. Interacts in a positive and cooperative manner in all dealings with co-workers and management. Actively participates in training; stays current and in compliance with required annual safety training. Supports manufacturing improvement programs and initiatives. Offers and helps implement improvement suggestions. Maintains a clean, orderly and safe working environment; wears and utilizes all PPE required for each job. Follows standard work and work instructions. Displays a high degree of attention to detail. Displays appropriate sense of urgency in communicating concerns (safety, quality, etc.). Cross-trains in order to perform all tasks in job rotation. Works overtime, including weekends and holidays, as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Certification:

Valid, OSHA-compliant forklift operator certification.

Experience:

Typically, 3 to 5 years of prior distribution center knowledge/driving. Unloading and loading product for direct shipment to customer.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials (often up to 50 lbs).

Soft Skills:

Strong spatial awareness, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail.
