Forklift Operator / Production Specialist Job Description This role combines professional forklift operation with hands-on production and warehouse support. You will safely move materials, maintain accurate inventory records using a warehouse management system, and help keep the facility clean, organized, and efficient. The position requires strong attention to detail, a safety-first mindset, and the flexibility to work rotating shifts based on seasonal needs. Responsibilities Operate a forklift safely and professionally to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, and move products, equipment, and materials within the warehouse. Perform accident-free forklift operations while strictly following safety and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular forklift inspections and ensure all findings are documented accurately. Carry out systematic maintenance and cleaning of the forklift to keep it in optimal working condition. Use the warehouse management system (WMS) to continuously track the location of goods during material handling and ensure accurate and timely data . Essential Skills Proven ability to operate a forklift safely and professionally in a warehouse environment. Ability to count accurately when moving and handling inventory. Ability to read and interpret scales for measuring and verifying product quantities or weights. Strong multitasking skills with a high level of attention to detail. Additional Skills & Qualifications 1 year of forklift experience is preferred. 1 year of warehouse experience is preferred. Prior forklift certification, particularly on sit-down forklifts, is preferred. Experience with loading and unloading trucks and transport vehicles. Familiarity with material handling processes and warehouse workflows. Comfort working rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and longer shifts during certain seasons. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Woodhull, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
