Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Material Coordinator - Forklift Operator to support plant and warehouse operations in Blaine, MN. This position is responsible for pulling and staging materials, maintaining inventory, supporting saw operations, and assisting with shipping and receiving. The ideal candidate has previous warehouse or plant experience, strong forklift skills, and the ability to accurately measure and handle metal materials in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Pull materials from inventory and prepare orders for shipment. Retrieve materials for saw orders and deliver them to the appropriate operators or locations. Perform shipping and receiving duties according to established procedures. Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment. Operate saws and trucks as trained and authorized. Assist drivers with load preparation and material staging. Conduct accurate inventory counts of assigned materials. Consolidate materials to maximize warehouse space and prepare for incoming inventory. Stock incoming materials and ensure proper placement and labeling. Maintain accurate material locations and inventory organization. Keep warehouse floors, aisles, and work areas clean and free of hazards. Provide backup support to saw operators and drivers as needed. Follow all company safety procedures and material-handling requirements. Assist with additional warehouse and plant responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 1 year of warehouse or plant experience required. Previous forklift operating experience required. Valid driver's license required. Strong basic math and measurement skills. Ability to accurately read a tape measure and micrometer. Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety. Ability to organize and accurately track materials and inventory. Dependable with a strong work ethic and consistent attendance. Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team. Willingness to work overtime as needed. Ability to safely operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment. Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to frequently grasp, push, pull, bend, twist, reach, sit, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
Working Conditions:
Metal manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution environment. Regular forklift operation and material handling. Exposure to industrial machinery, metal materials, moving equipment, and typical manufacturing noise. Work may involve shipping and receiving, inventory, saw operations, and material staging. Overtime may be required based on operational needs. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required. Must consistently follow established warehouse, forklift, and plant safety procedures.
