Weld/Fabrication Shop Starting Pay:

$17.00-$18.00 per hour Position Overview Snyder Engineering, Inc. is seeking a dependable, hands-on CNC Plasma Table / Forklift Operator to join our steel fabrication operation in Columbia, Missouri. This position combines CNC machine operation, forklift/material handling, and general fabrication shop support . We are not necessarily looking for someone who is already an expert CNC operator. We are willing to train the right person who has good mechanical aptitude, is comfortable working around steel and industrial equipment, and has previous forklift experience. Welding experience is helpful but not required . Primary Responsibilities Operate a CNC plasma cutting table used to cut steel components for fabrication. Assist with operation of our Robo Rail CNC cutting machine as needed. Load job/program information into CNC equipment using a provided thumb drive/USB drive. Monitor equipment during operation and ensure parts are being cut properly. Perform basic machine setup and routine operator-level maintenance and housekeeping. Operate a forklift to unload steel from flatbed trailers . Safely handle and move heavy pieces and bundles of steel throughout the yard and fabrication areas. Stack, stage, and organize steel materials in designated locations. Load steel onto conveyors and stage material for production. Assist fabrication personnel with material handling and other shop duties as needed. Maintain an organized and safe work area. Follow company safety procedures when operating forklifts, CNC equipment, and other machinery. Qualifications Previous forklift experience required . Experience working in a manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, construction, or similar industrial environment preferred. CNC or plasma cutting experience is helpful, but not required — we will train . Welding or steel fabrication experience is a plus, but not required . Basic computer skills and the ability to learn CNC machine controls. Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment. Ability to safely handle and organize heavy steel materials. Ability to follow instructions, measurements, production information, and safety procedures. Dependable attendance and the ability to work effectively with production and fabrication personnel. Must be comfortable working both inside the fabrication shop and outside in the steel yard . About Snyder Engineering, Inc.
