Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo forklifts, to efficiently load, unload, and organize goods within our distribution center. Your expertise in warehouse operations and safety standards will ensure smooth flow of inventory and timely order fulfillment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced logistics environment where safety, accuracy, and teamwork are paramount. Responsibilities Safely operate forklift equipment such as reach trucks, lift trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and manual handling tools to load and unload shipments. Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Manage inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and manual counts to maintain accurate stock levels. Assist with order picking and order fulfillment by accurately selecting items according to shipping requests. Load and unload materials from trucks while adhering to OSHA safety standards and warehouse safety protocols. Support shipping & receiving processes by verifying inbound and outbound shipments against documentation. Maintain a clean and organized work environment by following warehouse distribution procedures and safety standards in production. Requirements Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, clamp trucks, or Hi-Lo forklifts. Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning technology for logistics operations. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely while following OSHA regulations. Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols including forklift safety standards in production environments. Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation accuracy. Prior experience in warehouse operations or distribution centers is highly preferred; warehouse supervisor experience is a plus. Valid certification for forklift operation; additional certifications such as OSHA training or equipment repair are advantageous.
