Production Supervisor / Materials Manager Job Summary The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently moving raw materials, components, finished products, and other manufacturing materials throughout the trailer production facility. This position supports production by ensuring materials are delivered to the appropriate work areas on time while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, attentive to detail, and experienced operating forklifts in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently. Load, unload, transport, stage, and store trailer components, raw materials, and finished products. Supply production workstations with materials according to production schedules and supervisor direction. Move steel, lumber, parts, assemblies, tires, axles, and other trailer components as required. Load and unload trucks and trailers while following proper safety procedures. Verify material quantities and inspect materials for visible damage before movement. Maintain accurate material locations and communicate shortages or discrepancies to supervisors. Keep aisles, staging areas, and work areas organized and free of unnecessary materials. Perform daily forklift inspections and report equipment damage, maintenance needs, or safety concerns. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and proper forklift operating procedures. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Assist with inventory counts and material organization as needed. Work closely with production, shipping, receiving, and quality personnel. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Previous forklift experience preferred; manufacturing or trailer-industry experience is a plus. Ability to safely operate a forklift in a busy manufacturing environment. Ability to read and understand basic work instructions, labels, and safety procedures. Basic ability to count and verify materials. Good communication and teamwork skills. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Willingness to follow established safety procedures and company policies. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and sit for extended periods. Ability to enter and exit a forklift repeatedly throughout the workday. Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds , with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, temperature changes, and moving equipment. Good hand-eye coordination and depth perception required for safe forklift operation. Work Environment This position works primarily in a trailer manufacturing facility and may involve exposure to moving machinery, forklifts, welding and fabrication areas, noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Strict adherence to safety procedures and PPE requirements is required. Safety Expectations Safety is a primary responsibility of this position. The Forklift Operator must operate equipment responsibly, maintain awareness of pedestrians and other equipment, obey posted speed limits and facility traffic rules, and immediately report unsafe conditions, accidents, or equipment problems to management.
Compensation & Benefits Pay:
$40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
