Job Description

Job Purpose The Forklift Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials throughout the peanut production facility. This position supports production, warehousing, and shipping operations by transporting raw peanuts, packaging supplies, and finished goods using a forklift and other material handling equipment. The operator also assists with general utility tasks to maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe environment, contributing to the overall productivity and safety of the facility. In the event a Forklift Operator is out, a qualified individual would serve as backup. Qualification Requirements
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed, along with the willingness to work overtime.

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent, is preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in operating forklifts in a manufacturing/warehouse setting is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents.
  • Ability to add and subtract with basic numbers.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Adhere to company policies and regulations regarding hygiene, dress code, and conduct in the workplace.
  • Have a safety-oriented mindset with knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory practices, and safety procedures.

  • This position requires a minimum of a 10-hour shift per day to meet production demands. Work hours may vary based on production needs, including occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Conduct pre-shift inspection checklists daily on the forklift to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any maintenance issues to the supervisor.
  • Safely operate a forklift to transport materials, packaging supplies, and finished products to and from designated areas within the facility.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including GMPs, to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate material movement and prioritize tasks.
  • Help with setup and changeovers in production areas by moving equipment, pallets, and supplies.
  • Supply production lines with raw materials and remove finished products to designated storage or shipping areas.
  • Assist with inventory counts, product tracking, and accurate documentation of material movement using the NetSuite system.
  • Utilize RF scanning guns to accurately track and record inventory movements, including receiving, stocking, picking, and shipping activities.
  • This position operates in a food manufacturing facility that exclusively processes peanuts. Employees must be able to safely and effectively perform work within this environment while adhering to all safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, and food safety standards. Exposure to airborne and contact allergens is unavoidable.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned by Management. Warehouse Forklift Operator
  • This position requires a minimum of an 8-hour shift per day to meet production demands. Work hours may vary based on production needs, including occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Safely operate a forklift to transport materials, packaging supplies, and finished products to and from designated areas within the facility.
  • Load and unload trucks, pallets, and containers using the forklift, ensuring proper stacking and securing of materials.
  • Conduct pre-shift inspection checklists daily on the forklift to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any maintenance issues to the supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records by recording the movement of materials in and out of storage areas using NetSuite.
  • Organize and maintain the warehouse and storage areas to optimize space and facilitate efficient material handling.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including GMPs, to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate material movement and prioritize tasks.
  • Assist in other warehouse duties, such as picking orders, stacking pallets, and conducting cycle counts, as needed.
  • Utilize RF scanning guns to accurately track and record inventory movements, including receiving, stocking, picking, and shipping activities.
  • Select and stage inventory according to FIFO, ensuring the oldest product is shipped before the newer stock.
  • This position operates in a food manufacturing facility that exclusively processes peanuts. Employees must be able to safely and effectively perform work within this environment while adhering to all safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, and food safety standards. Exposure to airborne and contact allergens is unavoidable.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned by Management. Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to push, pull, stoop, bend over, climb ladders and steps, work overhead, walk, and stand on hard surfaces.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Must have good manual dexterity. Work Environment
  • The primary work environment is a production floor setting, where temperatures may vary from hot to cold based on seasonal changes and operational conditions. Employees may be exposed to moderate-to-high noise levels, humidity, and other typical environmental factors of a production facility.
  • Ability to work with various tools, cleaning supplies, and chemicals.
  • Wear appropriate PPE.
  • Work in a peanut and tree nut allergen environment, as well as other potential irritants, such as salt, spices, and seasonings.
  • Work in an environment with equipment, such as high-speed machinery, forklifts, man lifts, etc.
