Material Handler- Forklift Operator
Job Description
- Only qualified Material Handler- Forklift Operator candidates located near the "Sumter, South Carolina" area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence
- Required Education
- High School Diploma (HS) or EquivalentRequired Experience
- Minimum 6 months of experience operating a forklift or stand-up lift required
- Experience with Walkie Ryder motorized pallet jack
- General distribution knowledge
- Experience working in a fast-paced distribution environment Tech Skills
- Computer literacy
- Experience using RF scanners preferred
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (MHE)
- Ability to process orders using RF technology
- Ability to read and interpret distribution documents
- Ability to perform work in a metrics-driven environmentSoft Skills
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks or projects
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Basic analytical organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detailResponsibilities
- Operate forklift and stand up lift equipment
- Process customer orders including scanning bar codes picking and labeling boxes
- Pick and pack orders using RF technology
- Maintain an acceptable work area according to standard operating procedures and work instructions
- Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- Complete required RF device training
- Verify order accuracy and complete shipment packaging
- Palletize orders including scanning retrieving and placing completed orders on pallets
- Re palletize products for shipment
- Perform dock manifest duties including scanning completed pallets and operating the shrink wrapper when required
- Transport pallets using material handling equipment when required
- Follow all safety instructions and proper operating practices
- Maintain required attendance standards
- Maintain current status in required training modules
- Understand and support organizational quality goals
- Perform job activities safely and according to established safety requirements
- Assist in maintaining warehouse security and a safe working environment
- Report injuries accidents unsafe acts hazards unsafe conditions or suspicious activity immediately
- Maintain a clean neat and orderly work area
- Follow facility sanitation and housekeeping guidelines
- Cross train on responsibilities of other warehouse positions
- Provide backup support during employee absences or vacations
- Perform other duties as assignedPhysical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Ability to walk stand stoop kneel balance crouch reach push pull grasp twist lift and perform repetitive hand and finger movements
- Ability to climb when required
- Ability to work near moving mechanical equipment
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
- 10 panel drug screen required within 48 hours of job offer acceptance
- Eye exam required
