Foreman Position Summary:
Forklift Operators are instrumental in our operations. You are required to safely operate and maintain specialized forklift equipment to transport materials across your assigned facility. The role involves handling various types of forklifts including rough terrain, heavy duty, and extended boom models. You will load and unload shipments, rig and transport rental equipment, compressors, light plants, generators, materials, etc. and ensure compliance with safety and operational protocols. Precision, attention to detail, and a strong dedication to safety are essential in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a variety of forklifts including rough terrain, heavy duty, and extended booms to move materials to and from storage areas, loading docks, trucks, or storage facilities. Conduct thorough pre-operational checks on forklifts and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance. Load and unload materials from trucks or other vehicles using appropriate forklift equipment. Stack and store products in designated areas following established procedures and inventory management guidelines. Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures, including the use of required PPE and conducting regular safety inspections of forklifts. Monitor equipment performance, promptly report malfunctions or maintenance needs to your foreman. Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to prioritize tasks and ensure timely completion of material transport and equipment handling. Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and work areas to uphold a safe and productive environment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid Drivers License. Valid Forklift Operator Certification (Cannot be Expired) Proven experience as a forklift operator specializing in Rough Terrain, Heavy Duty, and Extended Boom forklifts, ideally in an industrial setting. Ability to conduct routine inspections on equipment. Strong grasp of safety protocols related to equipment operation. Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic setting. Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Ability to pass a drug screening and maintain a drug-free status throughout employment.. Ability to refuel equipment and maintain fueling records. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English. Physical stamina and mobility including the ability to lift heavy equipment and work on your feet for extended periods. Willingness to work in potentially hazardous environments (refinery operations areas) while following safety guidelines. Be able to pass client required drug screens. Be able to pass client required background checks.
Preferred Skills:
Certification or training in forklift operation. Familiarity with fuel handling procedures and safety guidelines. Experience with hazardous materials handling and safety protocols. Basic understanding of industrial or refinery operations.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to work in the elements for extended periods of time. Must be willing and able to climb 100' to 150' ladder cages, towers, scaffolds, or structures and working at heights Must be willing and able to work in a confined space
