Job Description

The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe movement of materials into and out of inventory, supporting production operations, maintaining accurate records, and loading trucks with decking materials and other finished goods for customer shipment. This position ensures materials are available for production, inventory is maintained accurately, and all material handling activities are performed safely and efficiently. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Moves material in process from one station to another as needed. Bands, wraps, packs, and labels finished goods. Loads trucks with decking materials and other finished products, ensuring loads are accurate, secure, and comply with safety and shipping requirements. Unloads incoming materials and verifies shipments when required. Moves finished goods from production areas to finished goods inventory yards or warehouses. Assists production departments with bottlenecks and material needs. Provides production lines with materials according to the production schedule. Performs general preventive maintenance on forklifts and related equipment. Completes pre-shift equipment inspection checklists and reports any problems or concerns. Maintains raw material and finished goods inventory yards in a clean and organized manner. Completes production, inventory, and shipping records as required. Follows all forklift operation rules, safety procedures, and company policies. Participates in safety, continuous improvement (CI), and other company programs and meetings.
